It seems that the network printing method changed on the Leopard OS. Now the most straight-forward way to print from a PC with M$ windows to a shared printer on a Mac is the following:
1. Install Bonjour for Windows from here
2. Select the printing wizard and select the generic printer driver (my canon driver does not work)
That is it.
